Tamsulosin
Tamsulosin Hydrochloride (hcl) side effectsTamsulosin is a selective 1A and 1D adrenoreceptor antagonist. 1A and 1D receptors are predominant in prostate, prostatic capsuie, prostatic urethra and bladder. The relaxation of prostate and bladder smooth muscle helps to urine flow and reduction of lower urinary tract symptoms. Bioavailability of 100% under fasting conditions. Half-life of a single dose of 0.4 mg is estimated to be 14 to 15 hours. It is approximately 99% plasma protein bound to primarily a, acid giycoproteln. Indications of TamsulosinBenign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). Dosage of Tamsulosin400mcg daily those who do not respond after two or four weeks, dose can be increased to 800mcg once daily. Children -- Not indicated. Contraindications of Tamsulosin hclHypersensitivity to the drug, in severely impaired hepatic function and severely impaired kidney functions.
