Indroduction and Uses of Cephradine

Cephradine are used in the treatment of infections caused by bacteria. They work by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. Cephradine is an antibiotic that belongs to a group of drugs called cephalosporins.

Cephradine are used to treat infections in many different parts of the body. They are sometimes given with other antibiotics. Some Cephradine given by injection are also used to prevent infections before, during, and after surgery. However, Cephradine will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.

Warning and Precautions of Cephradine

• Use of antibiotics can change the normal organisms in your body. Women are at risk of getting fungal infections. Tell your nurse or doctor if you get vaginal itching or discharge.
• Cephradine may be taken on a full or empty stomach. If this medicine upsets your stomach, it may help to take it with food.
• This medicine may cause false test results with some urine sugar tests. Check with your doctor before changing your diet or the dosage of your diabetes medicine.
• Patients with kidney problems or with a history of colitis (colon inflammation) should use this drug with caution.

Storage conditions of Cephradine

Keep nitulamide in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from light and excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and take only your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this medication.

In case of emergency/overdose

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.
