Cefoperazone sodium is used to treat infections of the lungs, kidneys, bladder, skin and soft tissues, and infections in the blood (septicemia). They work by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. Cefoperazone Sodium is given by an injection in the vein over 30 minutes, 2 to 4 times a day. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication. What happens if I miss a dose? Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and take only your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this medication. In case of emergency/overdose In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.
