Buserelin AcetateTRADE NAME: Suprefact Indroduction and Uses of Buserelin AcetateBuserelin acetate belongs to the general group of drugs known as hormones or hormone antagonists. It is used to treat advanced prostate and breast cancers. Buserelin is a synthetic analog of natural gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH/LHRH). The effects of buserelin on follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) release are 20 to 170 times greater than those of LHRH. Buserelin is a man-made drug which is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, when it has spread to other parts of the body or come back after initial treatment. It is a type of hormonal therapy.
